Geoff Tate - Vocals Produced by Queensr˙che
** - Added onto the 1988 re-release. Editor's Album Notes: The EP was a labor of persistence. The band, minus Geoff Tate, wrote the original four songs on the EP, and under the monicker of "The Mob," asked Geoff Tate, then a member of the band Myth, to sing on their demo. After months of shopping the album, which at that time, was on the band's own label, 206 Records, the band's management sent a demo tape to the UK magazine, Kerrang, and from their, the band took off. Geoff Tate left Myth, and joined what would become Queensr˙che. The songs on this record are very indicative of the time period, sounding like an American version of Iron Maiden. However, with Tate writing the lyrics to "The Lady Wore Black," you can tell his progressive influence was about to help create something unique. The album was re-released in 1988 with the inclusion of "Prophecy," and then remastered and re-released in 2003 with the audio of "Live in Tokyo," a live video release from 1984, being included in remastered format. |
