SoulbenderSoulbender was originally formed around 2002. Queensr˙che guitarist Michael Wilton was looking for an outlet for his passion for metal music, and connected with guitarist Dave Groves and vocalist Nick Pollock (ex-My Sister's Machine). They were quickly joined by drummer Wes Hallam and bassist Marten Van Keith. The band played its first live show opening for Queensr˙che vocalist Geoff Tate's solo band, at the EMP in Seattle, Wash. in June 2002. Soulbender released its first album in 2004 independently. As of May 2007, the band still had not signed with a label, although they continue to play sporadic live dates as Michael Wilton's schedule with Queensr˙che allows. During the past few years, Soulbender has undergone a number of lineup changes. The current band consists of original members Wilton and Groves, along with bassist Chuck Miller and vocalist Travis Bracht (from the Seattle band Second Coming). Van Williams from Nevermore has been filling in on drums during live shows, as Soulbender searches for a permanent drummer.
